New Constructivists is an association of professional artists with a strong interest in non figurative work.
Formed in 2001 the members of the association work in different ways with ideas derived from geometry, abstraction and science. Rather than attempting to revive formal constructivism of the last century, the accociation explores it¡¯s stylistic relevance to the contemporary world in terms of the use of line, planes, precision and formal ordering of visual elements.
The association held an inaugural exhibition at Cottons Atrium in October 2002 when it was formally opened by the scientist and author Colin Tudge. Regular annual exhibitions have been held since 2002 and a list of them is given on the EXHIBITIONS page.
The committee of the association meets regularly to plan future events.
