My current work includes geometric ordering and the predominance of empty space. Reference points include the De Stijl movement and the linear structures of the Argentinian painter Carlos Cairoli.
In my 2006 series the introduction of grained grounds, interference paint and layered hard-edged structures, challenge the flatness of the surface and the viewers perspective.
The wooden reliefs are covered with industrial paint and portray geometrical designs. Solid-shaped blocks suggest architectural plans and a concern with negative space. Distinct linear structures are evident in the pencil line spaces between the solid forms.
In 2007 I am expanding the architectural elements in the reliefs to paintings.
